The chase match in the Challenge League ends in a draw.

Vaduz and Aarau draw 2-2 in the eleventh round of the Challenge League and thus reach a point that is actually of no use to anyone. To keep Thun and Sion, who had pulled away at the top, within reasonable distance, Vaduz and Aarau would have needed three points.

Aarau initially appeared to be on the right track, but Alex Frei’s side squandered a 2-0 lead they had built up with goals from Silvan Schwegler and Nikola Gjorgjev (34th and 38th). Gasser scored for Vaduz in the 41st minute, making it 2-2 through an own goal from Aarau defender Cvetkovic.

After catching up in the 93rd minute, Vaduz has a good chance of winning on his own field. But Tunahan Cicek misses the foul penalty to make it 3-2.

In Sunday’s second match, Bellinzona and bottom team Schaffhausen also drew. The game ends without goals. (mbi/SDA)
