Now it’s official! Burnley FC have confirmed the signing of Zeki Amdouni (22).
And the Premier League newcomer does this in a rather strange way: the Swiss is greeted with a funny video from the Teletubbies.
First, the children’s video characters are asked who is presenting the promoted Premier League today, before the striker says “Hello” and the Teletubbies reply with an “Eh-oh”. Amdouni explains he is looking forward to Burnley and adds a “hop Clarets”.
The Nati star has signed a contract until 2028. A transfer fee is not officially mentioned, but more than 15 million francs can be assumed. A lot of money for FC Basel, for whom he scored 22 goals in 52 competitive games in the championship, cup and conference competition last season and prepared five more.
Burnley coach Vincent Kompany (37) says of Amdouni: “He is an incredibly intelligent player, technically excellent and dangerous. I look forward to working with him.”
Amdouni is looking forward to his new club, he chose Burnley because “the coach really wanted him”. (nsa)
