PEC Zwolle has completely mixed up again in the title fight. Premier League leaders Heracles lost 3-2 in a memorable game on Friday night.

The spectacle took place mainly in the last quarter of an hour of the first half. The first real chance was a goal. PEC player Gervane Kastaneer was released in front of the Heracles goal. The ball landed in Almelo’s goal via defender Marco Rente.

PEC then pressed on and that resulted in a second and third goal from Zwolle within ten minutes: striker Lennart Thy was responsible for both goals.

Shortly before the break, the moderately playing Heracles made something back. A long ball from Michael Brouwer went over the PEC defence. Samuel Armenteros followed and shot the 3-1 halftime score onto the scoreboard.

A stormy Heracles failed to materialize at the beginning of the second half. The main focus was on the supporters of both teams.

The broken chairs in the field

PEC Zwolle fans took out a Herakles banner. Probably stolen from the visitor area. In response, Heracles fans broke off seats, which were then thrown onto the pitch. Referee Rob Dieperink interrupted the game for ten minutes.

After the restart, Kasteneer had the chance to suspend the game. Goalkeeper Michael Brouwer saved. Heracles scored shortly afterwards: Rigino Cicilia scored the first goal around 15 minutes before the end. Heracles failed to equalize in the ten-minute stoppage time.

Kuyt wins again

ADO coach Dirk Kuyt picked up an important win during a visit to NAC Breda. That team still had the lead, but two identical headers from center forward Thomas Verheydt gave ADO the lead.

In the second half, tastemaker Xander Severina failed to extend the lead. He hit the bar and the post. NAC Breda posed a number of threats just before the end, but failed to equalise.
