The Mariñanos won four medals in the Galician junior and infant categories

Olympic rowing in Ribadense continues to flourish. A little over a week ago, three of his pledges climbed to the podium of the Spanish cadet championship held in Banyoles, and the new generation is also reaping the fruits of their labor. The Ribadeo Rowing Club won four medals and confirmed itself among the best quarries in Galicia at the Galicia Junior and Children’s Championship that was just held in Castrelo de Miño.

The two medals won in the waters of Ourense were gold. Antón Balsa was the great dominator of the children’s 1x, and his classmate Carlota Peña also triumphed in the single boat. In addition, Martina Castro and Sara Rodríguez climbed to the second drawer of the podium and won silver in the 2x children category, while Paloma Monteserín and Adriana García were third in the 2x junior category.

The Mariñano expedition to Castrelo de Miño ended with another good handful of athletes achieving good positions in their finals. Carmen Vázquez and Zhelina Nelina were fourth, preparing to join Sari and Martini on the 2x children’s platform; Daniel Rivas finished fifth in 1x juniors; Alejandro Barreira also placed fifth overall in the Kids 1x; and Izan Alonso was eighth in the children’s 1x.

Irene García, Monteserín and Lara climbed to the podium in the national competition of female cadets

Ribadeo Rowing Club cadets also gave a great performance at the Spanish Championships held last weekend in Banyoles. As many as three athletes from Marina climbed the podium of the Catalan regatta, which brought together the cream of national rowing.

Mateo Monteserín and Conrado Lara won silver in the 2x race, just four seconds behind the Náutico Sevilla duo after 1500 meters. For her part, Irene García Valle also climbed to the second drawer of the podium in 1x, six seconds away from Linensa representative Esther Fuerte.

Nerea Lago, third

International Nerea Lago completed the Ribadian participation. She was third in the absolute 4x with Real Círculo de Labradores from Seville.
