The convoy of the Tour de Suisse will find a shorter route on Friday.

Actually, the longest part of the Tour de Suisse should also be held on Friday with the 6th stage. But the 215-kilometre journey from La Punt GR to Oberwil-Lieli AG is now shortened by 65.5 kilometres.

The reason for this is the blue phase, which was declared Friday night around Brienz GR due to the accelerating landslide. As a result, several cantonal roads will be closed, including those from Surava to Tiefencastel and from there to Vazerol. This is exactly where the entourage of cyclists should have passed.

This stretch would be hard to avoid and that is why the start is now at 12.30 in Chur, the organizers have announced. The original route ran from the Engadine via the Albula and Lenzerheide to Chur (this section was deleted), then via Sargans, the Walensee and Lachen SZ to Oberwil-Lieli. (che)
