Commission President Werner Salzmann (SVP/BE) told media in Bern on Thursday that the Commission was unable to complete preliminary talks on the deal due to time constraints. On June 4, she again bowed to the Federal Council’s request for a loan. This means that the Council of States can only take a decision in the autumn.
According to Salzmann, SiK-S unanimously agreed to the deal. The mood on the project is “positive”. The National Council clearly approved the loan of one billion euros in early May.
