EVP criticizes the big banks

On Saturday in Aarau, the Assembly of Deputies voted in favor of the OECD’s minimum tax by 93 votes in favour, four against and four abstentions, according to a statement. The deputies had already said yes to the new climate protection law in November.

After the announced acquisition of Credit Suisse by UBS, the party also demanded a transparent and uncompromising analysis of the roles and responsibilities of all involved. Stricter guidelines and clear guidelines for awarding bonuses are needed. The EVP called on UBS to seriously consider making Credit Suisse’s Swiss operations independent.

Party chairman and national councilor Lilian Studer (AG) said many executives at the big banks, especially Credit Suisse, had suffered a serious lack of credibility and integrity in recent years, leading to a rapid loss of public and financial market confidence went.
