Federal President Alain Berset opened the Baukultur conference in Davos on Sunday with about twenty European ministers of culture in Davos.

A high level of building culture is essential to quickly bring about the energy transition and slow down climate change, Berset said in his opening speech on Sunday at the two-day building culture conference in the margins of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The purpose of the conference is to promote exchanges between the private sector, civil society and politics by establishing a cultural alliance. An accompanying founding document will be signed on Monday.

Switzerland was last invited to such an event in 2018. Building culture includes architecture, design, urban planning and craftsmanship.
