In general, the theory of color writing is a complex topic and, frankly, even provocative. Let’s not go into the jungle today (we’ll do that later), but let’s hear the opinion of fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev, who – to our surprise here – not so long ago spoke out against one particular shade. Or rather, a whole group of colors that he considered unsuitable for any skin type.
No, it’s not black (who would turn down this basic foundation?), or fuchsia (hello Valentino, who flooded all the red carpets last summer) and not acid yellow (the same one, take your eyes off the category). Alexander Vasilyev believes that there is no need to worry about them, but the color that was very popular in 2021 – green.
The critic talked about it, as you noticed, 2 years ago – that’s when green shades flooded all the news about the trends of the year. Take at least the famous green presented by Bottega Veneta: it simply blew up the trends for many months. Another thing is that it was a warm, rich and juicy shade, and Alexander Vasilyev talks about cold and light options – they can really play a cruel joke with you.
Of course, the shade itself will not harm you, but if you have bruises under your eyes or you have generally pale skin (fatigue simply leaves such an imprint), then light green will accentuate paleness and soreness. So yes, you really should be careful with it – thanks to the fashion historian for the reminder!
