Just like 30 years ago, Blocher sees Swiss independence threatened by the EU – for example by the framework agreement. According to Blocher, the “values-based, solidarity-based partnership with the EU” maintained only by the Bundesrat puts Switzerland in trouble, as it leads to the adoption of EU sanctions against Russia and thus the abandonment of “special Swiss neutrality “.

This goal is to be achieved with the neutrality initiative recently launched by «Pro Switzerland». The initiative aims to largely prohibit Switzerland from joining defense alliances and from accepting or imposing sanctions.

«Pro ​​​​​​Schweiz» is a successor to the Campaign for an Independent and Neutral Switzerland (AUNS). The AUNS served as an impartial platform for the EEA opponents in the referendum campaign.
