In Switzerland, it is mainly young people and young adults who feel heard and taken seriously who participate in politics. Older young people volunteer more often than young people, young people in urban areas more often than their peers in rural areas.

This is the result of an ongoing study commissioned by the Federal Commission for Children and Youth (EKKJ). According to the study published on Tuesday, education and gender also play a role: higher educated young people participate more often than average, girls and young women more than their male peers.

According to the information, political participation among young people with a Swiss passport is also higher than that of young people without Swiss citizenship. (SDA)
