Several federal websites were unavailable Wednesday. The background was a hacker attack, as the government announced.
As a result of a DDoS attack, individual federal government websites were temporarily unavailable. The Russia-affiliated group NoName claimed responsibility for the attack, the Federal Cybersecurity Office said. The hackers cited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s participation in the WEF as the reason.
The cyber attack was quickly noticed and the federal government specialists took appropriate measures to restore the accessibility of the websites as quickly as possible.
Swiss authorities had expected such an attack and had therefore implemented security measures accordingly, the Federal Office said. (she)
