Despite widespread criticism of the EPD: National Council wants to make money available to stimulate e-patient records

The National Council wants to make money available to support the e-patient file.

With 133 votes against, 55 and 2 abstentions, the council rejected a no-action motion from several members of the SVP National Council and began discussing the proposal in detail.

This provides temporary transition financing for the file providers. A maximum of 30 million francs is intended to promote the dissemination of the e-patient file among the population, even before a major reform of the federal law on the EPD. The cantons must also make 30 million available.

The electronic patient file is a digital collection of important information about a person’s health. The EPD law pursues several goals: medical treatments must be improved, the efficiency of the healthcare system must be increased and patient safety must be increased. (SDA)
