The Grand Council approved the government council’s loan application by 91 votes to 37. Only the SVP faction spoke out against the loan.

According to the government council, the cantonal mammography screening program aims to ensure equal opportunities for all, regardless of women’s financial status. Women would also reap the benefits of the program. More than a dozen cantons already have such a prevention program.

The cantonal Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (DGS) will now conclude a service contract with a non-profit organization. According to the government council, the Aargau Cancer League and the Aargau Cancer Registry have already submitted a concept for the introduction of a breast screening program. (SDA)
