Four years ago, the green wave caused a revolution in the canton of Fribourg. SVP politician Jean-François Rime (73) was voted out in the last elections. In his place, the Green Gerhard Andrey (47) was sent to Federal Bern.
The SVP now wants to take back the second seat. She competes with the previous Pierre-André Page – and also with Flavio Bortoluzzi (46), former top volleyball player and son of SVP veteran Toni Bortoluzzi (76).
