Switzerland is known for its high-quality healthcare system. However, patients still experience disadvantages in terms of quality of healthcare. (icon image)

People who are disadvantaged in terms of education, job and income rate the quality of health care as fundamentally worse. People aged 18 to 34, people living in single-parent families, first-generation migrants and people with a tertiary education also find the quality of care less good.

According to the Obsan report, published Tuesday, the accumulation of socioeconomic disadvantages increases the risk that advantages will be lost for cost reasons. In their opinion, these people received too little support for chronic diseases. It is also difficult for migrants to communicate with doctors in the local language.
