Rolling Stones announce new album – but as a true fan you’ve already checked that

Although the three remaining members of the Rolling Stones are well into their seventies and eighties, they are far from tired of making music. Almost two decades after their last studio album ‘A Bigger Bang’ from 2005, they are now releasing another album with new songs.

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will discuss their new album and the band’s next era this Wednesday in an exclusive YouTube live stream with Jimmy Fallon. Appropriately, it will be broadcast from the London borough of Hackney – the album will be called “Hackney Diamonds”.

True Rolling Stones fans have been noticing for a while that something is up. The band had a cryptic advertisement placed in the British newspaper Hackney Gazette, with many allusions to old songs. «Our friendly staff promises you satisfaction. If you say, give me shelter, we’ll fix the broken windows,’ it said. And also on Instagram there are plenty of indications that a new album is on the way. There’s even a sneak peek at her new song “Don’t Get Angry With Me.”

The new album features the last recordings of drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021. It also features Steve Jordan, who has since replaced Watts during live performances. It could also be that Paul McCartney plays the bass on a song.

When the album will be released exactly, the band will announce in the live stream on Wednesday. (ann)
