The “Tiroler Tageszeitung” (TT) quoted the company and its central works council on Saturday, stating that this was due to delayed orders. It was reported that Selina Stärz, Chair of the Central Labor Council, said there was a corresponding agreement with the group.

For those affected, a five-day pattern is applied instead of a six-day shift. In addition, overtime should be reduced and the remaining vacation days should be reduced. The measures are aimed at protecting employment. According to the “TT” report, it is not an official “short-run” and authorities have not filed for it.

According to the company, this allows you to “react more quickly and flexibly to ever-changing market conditions.” A total of about 3000 people are employed in Wattens. More than 20,000 people work for the company, which has stores in approximately 170 countries around the world.

In recent years, due to the corona epidemic, Swarovski had to deal with some economic turmoil, on the one hand, in the management of the group, on the other hand. Finally it rose again.

At the beginning of March, Swarovski reported a ten percent increase in sales in fiscal 2022. Crystal group achieved sales of 1.83 billion euros. After three years of significant losses, 2022 ended with “a very strong development leading to an almost positive outcome”.
