This is also helpful when looking for new employees. On Wednesday evening, Great Place to Work honored the best employers in Switzerland for 2022.
The consulting firm interviewed more than 34,000 employees at 220 organizations. This shows what is particularly important to employees in the workplace: they want to be proud of their employer and the work they do together. This includes being happy to tell other people where you work and not being ashamed of it. Anyone who makes positive comments about their employer is making the best free ad for future new hires.
Health becomes more important
Good exchange of ideas with managers is also very popular for employees. We want to find open ears with questions and get direct answers. They also value the sincere interest and honesty of their superiors.
The mental and emotional health of the workforce is becoming more important and is one of the determining criteria for job satisfaction. Employers should pay particular attention here: If the workload is too high due to lack of staff, there is a greater risk of dismissal and a vicious circle enters the path.
A good work environment pays off
This year, Great Work to Place rewarded 51 companies with the “Best Workplaces” label. Companies were classified according to their size. Blick compiled the top ten employers in each of the four categories. IT and industrial companies are performing well above average.
The survey shows that 80 percent of employees at top companies want to work there for a long time. On the other hand, only 60 percent on average across Switzerland want to remain loyal to their employers for a long time, as the consulting firm reports. If you are satisfied with your employer, you are willing to do more.
Maintaining the work atmosphere seems to work. Especially given the projections that the skilled worker shortage will worsen significantly in the coming years – in part due to the continued retirement of the baby boom generation. By the end of 2025, there should be 365,000 vacancies in Switzerland.
