UBS took over the stunned Credit Suisse on Sunday a week ago.

For ten days they were left in the dark: long-standing customers of Credit Suisse, which was taken over by UBS. Now the bank wants to inform. Numerous customers received a “personal invitation” via email to the “webcast of the merger of Credit Suisse and UBS” scheduled for Tuesday.

“The global financial industry has been through extraordinary turmoil over the past few days, and there has been a lot of comment and speculation about Credit Suisse. These days have been tough for everyone involved and the parties associated with the bank – especially you, our valued customers,” CS writes to clients in an email owned by Blick.

He continues: “We can now inform you with certainty and clarity: Credit Suisse and UBS have signed a merger agreement. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Until then, Credit Suisse will continue to do business as usual, working closely with UBS.”

“No action needed”

The big bank obviously wants to calm things down. «You, our valued customers, do not need to take any action. We are completely focused on providing a smooth transition and seamless service for you. We do our best to keep you up to date with all developments that concern you.

The virtual information event with Credit Suisse Switzerland CEO André Helfenstein (53) and Swiss Head of Private Banking Roger Suter (46) will take place tomorrow Tuesday at 8:00 am. The two want to prevent more customer money from flowing to other banks such as cantonal banks or Raiffeisen. Not surprisingly, he continues: “The event offers you the opportunity to learn what this merger means for our bank and what you can expect from us as a customer.”
