The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) not only has actors like Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. made them into the stars they are today. A number of established acting greats have also appeared in MCU films over the years, from Jeff Bridges in Iron Man to the recently revived Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, to Annette Benning in Captain Marvel . And while that’s hard for MCU fans to understand, for some, a Marvel role is just another job.
This suspicion also arises Lawrence Fishburne (“The Matrix”), who starred as Bill Foster, an old friend and colleague of Hank Pym, in “Ant-Man and the Wasp‘ was seen. However, in a recent interview, Fishburne seemed to have forgotten that he’s already part of the MCU.

It’s all the more weird because Fishburne claims in the same breath to be a huge MCU fan in the interview. “As much as I would like to be a part [des MCU] I’d be happy just being a fan and waiting to see what’s next,” explained Fishburne. He is looking forward to the new “Captain America 4”.

In fact, Fishburne may have simply forgotten that he already played Bill Foster. The Ant-Man movies are often (wrongly!) considered the unloved stepchildren of the MCU, so it shouldn’t be too surprising. Or he just expressed himself a bit unhappy and really means: “As much as I would like to have a piece AGAIN [des MCU] goods”.
Laurence Fishburne’s MCU Comeback in “What If?”
Anyway, it actually looks like a Laurence Fishburne and Bill Foster MCU comeback is imminent. In another interview, Fishburne explains that Foster would like to appear in “What if…?“Season 2 – and even as a giant man (so like in the Marvel Comics).

The animated series explores alternate histories in the Marvel Universe, as in Season 1 T’Challa became Star-Lord instead of Black Panther. Noisy on Twitter, who is one of the more reliable Marvel insiders, Bill Foster would appear in the ’80s as Goliath (which is just another one of Foster’s superhero names) instead of Giant-Man. Fishburne appears to be playing or voicing a younger version of his character.
By the way, not only are the above interviews both conducted for John Wick 4, Fishburne also wears the same outfit in both videos. So it’s very likely that the videos were shot on the same day and during the same marathon of interviews, suggesting that Fishburne was really wrong or unlucky in expressing himself.
