SR Technics recovers from Corona pandemic

In retrospect, the corona epidemic has had a positive effect: Fleets of planes parked in the desert need to be refitted. “It was and still is good work,” Lenz said in an interview with CH-Media published Tuesday.

For 2023, Lenz expects sales of over one billion francs. SR Technics’ five-year goal is to double sales to two billion francs. “We are expanding the infrastructure in Zurich and opening new workshops,” Lenz said. Labor costs make up less than a third of the cost of engine maintenance. This is one of the reasons why Switzerland is a profitable place.

In light of good prospects, Lenz is raising the 400 new jobs announced in April 2022 to approximately 500. SR Technics is looking for staff in Switzerland, but has to explore Europe as well due to a shortage of skilled workers. “This issue will preoccupy aviation for the next ten years.”

Lenz was also confident that the company would repay the federal government’s CHF 120 million Corona relief loan or replace it with another bank loan in the coming months. SR Teknik has not withdrawn most of its credit limit. (SDA)
