Sika achieves record sales in 2022

Sika announced Wednesday that sales have crossed the 10 billion mark for the first time. The year 2022 passed with the increase in raw material costs and the slowdown in the construction sector in the second half of the year. Sika raised its own prices accordingly and targeted growth opportunities.

Sika announced that the acquisition impact was 2.5 percent in the reporting year. The currency effect played in the opposite direction with minus 2.4 percent.

On average, analysts were expecting slightly higher sales of CHF 10.61 billion.

Sika Group is confident of the future. It expects a record operating result (EBIT) for 2022 and a stable EBITDA margin of 15 percent compared to the previous year.

At the same time, the company has approved the medium-term targets of “Strategy 2023”. Accordingly, sales should increase by 6 to 8 percent annually and the EBITDA margin should be in the range of 15 to 18 percent.

Sika expects the MBCC acquisition to be completed in the first half of 2023. The job is “directly at home,” Sika said.

Sika will present its full annual financial statements on 17 February.
