Switzerland knows no shame in flying when traveling on vacation

The local holiday mode caused by the pandemic is no longer popular. According to ITS-Coop Travel boss Andi Restle, in an interview with “SonntagsZeitung”, there was “a lot of work to be done” this year. “The Swiss paid the prices set by the beach holiday market.”

The competition between tour operators did not turn into a price war as in other years.

After Mallorca, Crete, Rhodes, Cyprus and Egypt this year, the package tour operator was particularly popular in the south of Turkey. At long range, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic and the United Arab Emirates were popular.

Adequate flights, good prices

«The reasons are simple: there was enough flight; prices were attractive,” Restle said.

According to the ITS Coop Travel boss, passengers’ need for safety has also increased. “We’re arranging more cancellation and travel event insurance than before.”
