Oliver Buchhofer, now Chief Operating Officer, assumes the newly created position of COO.

The airline is expanding its management team. A Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be added to the existing three-member committee. The company also appointed a new chief financial officer.

Oliver Buchhofer, currently Head of Operations, will take over the newly created position on May 1, 2024, the Lufthansa subsidiary announced on Tuesday. The COO will complement previous management. This means that the airline will be managed by a four-person committee in the future. Buchhofer, 47, is currently a member of the expanded board of directors as Chief Operating Officer.

Additionally, Dennis Weber will become the new CFO of Switzerland as of May 1. Weber is said to come from Lufthansa and will replace Markus Binkert, who will leave the company at the end of May. Weber has been heading Investor Relations at the Lufthansa Group since 2018 and is therefore responsible for all capital markets communications of the group.

It is not yet clear who will be the CEO of Switzerland. Current Swiss boss Dieter Vranckx is moving to the helm of parent company Lufthansa, as recently announced, after serving in the position for just over three years. (SDA)
