Signa’s bankruptcy in February offers bargain hunters and collectors of René Benko memorabilia another chance to acquire a piece of the company founder’s vast treasure.
Later, the furniture from the rooms on the first floor of the Palais Harrach in Vienna city center will be auctioned. According to auction house Aurena, this is the first floor that personally served Benko as a 100 square meter office and representation space.
Something for everyone
There will be something for almost every taste and every wallet: For example, a table with a stone base almost four meters long and a 54 square meter custom-made carpet from Benko’s office will go under the hammer. However, those interested can also bid for clothes hangers or doormats.
With a little luck and enough money, you can buy designer furniture and lights. In the auctioneer’s auction list you can find Signa porcelain and silver cutlery, as well as a cigar collection and eavesdropping box for smartphones.
The first surcharges are on February 13
In addition to all kinds of office inventory and toilet facilities, there are enough items such as a few rolls of toilet paper or a Signa water bottle at a low starting price for interested parties with even a small exchange. Even culture enthusiasts can get their money’s worth: books are offered – often in small packages – at reasonable prices. These include the classics “Minus Man”, “The Deal” and “I’ll Tell You Everything”.
There are five auction dates in February. The first surcharges will occur on the 13th. The highlights will go under the hammer on the 29th. (SDA/wgr)
