At the WEF, no one came closer to him than Alexandra (8): Why is Selenski allowing himself to be attacked here?

Presidents, billionaires, business leaders: yesterday Tuesday they all gathered around Volodymyr Zelensky (45) and posed for a photo with Ukraine’s wartime president. But no one came closer to him than little Alexandra (8). “I touched your nose. That was my goal all day,” says the little girl from Mariupol, who came to Davos and told people there that she had been kidnapped to Russia and rescued.

At the end of the day, Alexandra has 42 noses. Selensky’s nose, which he broke that evening at an event at the Ukrainian House in Davos, was number 32, while the Blick reporter’s nose was number 41. Even if Blick could not get as close to the president as little Alexandra: just a personal question, the Question was enough.

“I’m leaving Switzerland with good feelings. We had very good encounters here and I want to thank Switzerland from the bottom of my heart,” says Selenski when Blick asks what he took with him after his trip to Graubeğen.

Zelensky warns the world about Putin with this comparison

Zelensky’s stay in the Swiss mountains was anything but relaxing. He could see almost nothing from the bright Davos sun. Here’s what the WEF trip looked like:

  • Monday evening, 21.44: RhB special train arrives in Davos Dorf, accompanied by dozens of heavily armed soldiers and security guards. Two minutes later he sped away in his black Mercedes limousine with Bern license plate.
  • Early Tuesday morning: Bilateral meeting with NATO boss Jens Stoltenberg (64). Zelensky said that they discussed new weapons for Ukraine and the NATO summit to be held in Washington.
  • Morning: Meeting with 70 CEOs of major global companies, where Zelensky urged them to invest in Ukraine. “If you save our economy, we will save your security,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
  • Bilateral meetings will be held with the US Secretary of State, EU leaders and African politicians during the day.

Selenski held his big show at the WEF’s grand hall at 2 p.m. In his speech to those who are currently calling for negotiations and want to accept the “frozen conflict”, Zelensky warned: “Putin is a predator who is not satisfied with frozen products.”

Russia as a system only functions as long as it wages war. Putin failed to deliver economic victories to the “slave people”. So he relies entirely on reports of military success. Zelensky said anyone who believes he will hold back after negotiations is naive.

The Ukrainian president, who spent the day wearing a black sweater with Ukraine’s three-armed coat of arms, also warned against misjudging Russia’s intentions. “Anyone who thinks this war is about Ukraine is fundamentally mistaken,” he said. The Russian regime will not stop at any border.

In his speech and on his social media accounts, Selensky talked about the global south, that is, the states in Africa, Latin America and Asia, the majority of which still act neutral and do not show open superiority over Russia. “We need you, we need everyone, to win this war and ensure peace.”

Ukraine does the bloody job: “No country in Europe has an army like us, there are no men and women as brave as we.” But you cannot defeat the Russian threat alone.

That’s why Selenski is returning to Switzerland this year

So now what exactly did the performance bring? Were these just nice words? “Not at all,” Igor Zhovkva, 44, deputy head of Zelensky’s office, tells Blick. “We will return to Switzerland this year and host the global peace summit together with the Swiss government and 82 partner countries.”

At the summit, signatory states will pledge not to accept anything other than Ukraine’s ten-point proposal to end the war.

Russia must withdraw completely from Ukraine, release all kidnapped children and captive soldiers, and face a special international tribunal that will hold those responsible to account. This is what Ukraine wants. And that’s what Switzerland, which supports Selensky’s cause, wants.

Everyone knows exactly when the President of Ukraine will return and exactly where the summit will take place. His delegation is assured “definitely 2024”. But first Zelensky returns to the Ukrainian winter. It’s ice cold and snowy, just like in Davos. But right now, no one in Ukraine has time to leisurely discuss world problems the way global elites did in Davos this week.
