The printing company Swissprinters in Zofingen AG plans to cease operations at the end of September this year. The joint subsidiary of media companies Ringier and NZZ currently employs 144 permanent staff.
According to the company’s statement on Monday, the closure is due to decreased demand for printing products, loss of important orders and persistently high paper and energy prices.
Final decision after consultation process
All employees will be affected by the suspension of activities. However, the final number of employees to be laid off will only be known after the completion of the consultation process, which started on Monday.
Swissprinters is owned by Ringier (70 percent) and NZZ (30 percent). The company prints magazines, brochures and catalogues. (SDA/wgr)
