Fred Dixon, president of the New York Tourism Authority, said this at a press conference.

In the list of countries where tourists come, the top 5 guest countries are England, Canada, France, Brazil and Germany. More than 1,000 flights per week connect Europe with airports in the New York area. The tourism authority hopes for 63.7 million visitors in 2024.

Only 22.3 million people traveled to New York in 2020; Most of this was before the start of widespread Corona restrictions in the spring. In 2021, it came to around 36.4 million. A record was broken with 66.6 million in 2019.

The tourism sector, which employed approximately 400 thousand people before the start of the pandemic, is an important economic sector in the metropolis. (SDA)
