Good news for all aviation enthusiasts: Pilatus introduces the new PC-24. Its maximum range with six passengers is up to 3,704 kilometers. This means the powered jet can fly 370 kilometers further than its predecessor. In addition, the jet coming from Pilatus’ Stanser factories can be loaded heavier, up to 272 kilograms.
“More range, more payload, more comfort and better usability were our primary focus in this upgrade program,” Pilatus CEO Markus Bucher (57) said in a statement. There is no other business aircraft in this class that offers such consistent performance.
At maximum takeoff weight, the PC-24 needs a takeoff distance of 941 meters at sea level. This allows pilots to use even very short or even unpaved runways for takeoff.
Sofa, touchscreen and more storage
The cabin also offers more luxury: as Pilatus writes, the largest cabin volume in its class. The noise level has been optimized. This means everything should be quieter when flying. The new cabinets also offer greater freedom of movement and additional storage space. Powerful buyers can also equip the jet with a two-meter sofa. This can also be converted into a bed.
The new Pilatus is also equipped with a new in-flight entertainment system: This system includes four cabin speakers, including a subwoofer and a 10-inch touchscreen. This shows the jet’s location in real time on a 3D map at any given time. Lighting, USB ports and your own media storage shouldn’t be missing either. Pilatus worked with Lufthansa Technik to achieve this.
All PC-24s from serial number 501 onwards will be equipped with a new service: Aircraft data will be transmitted directly to Pilatus after each flight. The data is then analyzed here and transmitted to the operator if necessary.
The new PC-24 will be exhibited for the first time at the “National Commercial Aviation Convention and Exhibition” held in Las Vegas (USA) between 17-19 October 2023. (kae)
