The price difference in mobile phone subscriptions is widening. This emerges from a study published by Moneyland.ch on Wednesday. Surprisingly, promotional offers are also becoming increasingly outdated. Three trends briefly summarize the analysis.

The online portal compares numerous subscription offers from different providers to find the cheapest prepaid and subscription offers. Cost calculation was made based on three profiles: “light user”, “normal user” and “heavy user”.

Compared to the study dated October 2022, according to the study, only mobile phone subscriptions are affected by price increases, except for the prepaid offer. In comparison, more expensive providers increased their prices compared to the previous year, while cheaper providers experienced no price increases.

A second trend in price cuts is also evident: the cheapest subscriptions or prepaid offers of some mobile phone providers in Switzerland have become even cheaper compared to the previous year. At the same time, some relatively cheap providers have reduced their prices even further, according to the study.

Moneyland sets a third trend in promotions. It is said that providers are now increasingly saying goodbye to promotions and relying instead on cheap regular prices.

The conclusion of the comparison service is that mobile phone subscriptions from the second and third brands of the big three mobile phone providers, as well as from independent providers, are often significantly cheaper for customers.
