This is the result of a survey conducted by the export promotion organization Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) of more than 200 small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In this way, the export sensitivity of the SMEs participating in the survey rose to 66.7 points. The value of the last survey six months ago was still 60.5 points.
For SME export sensitivity, values above 50 indicate the expected increase in exports, while values below 50 indicate a decrease in exports. The current situation is therefore clearly in the positive range.
While the global challenges haven’t gone away, it’s less worrying, says S-GE about the outcome. One reason is that the past few months have gone better than expected.
As a result, only one in ten SMEs is considering layoffs. On the other hand, one in three people assume that there will be a staff increase.
