Never wear them: These 4 blazer models are contraindicated for women over 40

Jackets are so firmly integrated into our everyday wardrobes that they have acquired a considerable list of requirements. Some fashion experts insist that the sleeve should not cover the thumb bone, others advise choosing a total oversize – but they say it will suit any look.

Here you need to focus on your figure and features of addition: for example, do not choose models with powerful shoulder pads if you have the widest shoulders or are generally petite. But if you want to “make” your waist, then a fitted jacket with darts, which by themselves optically narrow the torso, will definitely suit you.

But these are details that we will talk about in more detail next time. And now let’s discuss a fashion taboo: 4 types of jackets that absolutely no one should wear. And even more so for women over forty, on whom such styles can look simply ridiculous.

With an error in editing

Look at the photo below – everything is different here. The shoulder line of the jacket is lower than necessary, and the material does not hold its shape well – the sleeves therefore look unkempt. Secondly, the silhouettes of the jacket and the body do not correspond to each other: the lower part of the jacket fits tightly to the hips, and thanks to the buttons, the material “stretches” to the center and folds. A clear example of clothes not matching the figure – too bad!

Short

There are shortened models – this is a trend. And there are only short ones – and that’s a mistake. Such jackets are said to be “undercut”: they have too short sleeves that are “cut off” at the wrist, such jackets end above the hips – so it is difficult to combine them with a T-shirt or shirt. These models look fat – they spoil any figure!

No form

We already talked about this error in part at the beginning. Jackets made of thin materials, which seem to “flow” around the body, do not structure the image in any way and do not correct the figure. Yes, some options can be styled as soft shirts (as in the photo), but this is more the exception than the rule.

Made of thin fabric

Next time you’re browsing the pages of your favorite fashion bloggers, take a closer look at the jackets they’re choosing. These are always fairly heavy models that can be used as outerwear in the spring.

Jackets made of tweed, with the addition of wool, even thick viscose, look dignified and elegant – in contrast to light and bland options. Therefore, if there is a choice between a “heavy” but not too cheap jacket and a thin cheap model, definitely choose the first one – it will add status to you.
