Fashion This is an anti-trend! Top 5 Winter Footwear Mistakes All Girls Make

Finding beautiful sandals is not difficult – every top shoe brand has a pretty model. There are not so many requirements for it: it should be comfortable, trendy and bright – it’s summer after all! But in winter, we have a huge number of questions about shoes: are they warm? Comfortable? True to size, allows you to wear a thick sock? Does it go with a down jacket / coat / jacket / fur coat? Go with jeans/chinos/skirts/dresses? Will he survive next season?

To put it mildly, “face control” (or even shoe control) turns out to be serious. As always, we will start solving the problem the other way round: first we will determine how not to wear winter boots, and then we will choose stylish models for the cold. We have already prepared instructions for the most beautiful shoes!

So the error is…

Select a demi-season

So the first mistake we all make sometime in the winter is to trust the demi-season. The puncture is very clearly felt when the temperature outside the window drops below -10 degrees: then insulated ankle boots, chelsea boots and high boots will not save us. Yes, they look great, but their time ends in November at best, in some regions even earlier. In the cold, you need real winter boots, high fur boots, dutiks and warm sneakers for good weather.

You are experiencing an unstable heel

Of course, all of this is very beautiful – until the first puddle of ice, which turns into an ice rink and takes you straight to the emergency room. This photo, by the way, was taken at Fashion Week 2015: back then it was almost impossible not to wear stilettos – everyone did it. Now, thankfully, fashionistas have seen the magic of the stable stiletto heel and the traumatic stiletto is left for really appropriate looks.

Shorten your legs

The big bane of winter outfits is the wrong pants. Here we separately collected 5 of the most unfortunate models of 2022 – in principle, they are difficult to style, and “thanks” they can also cut your figure. Pants that end at the ankle and also have an extension in the hip area threaten to reduce your height by a few centimeters.

The situation can be partially corrected with properly selected boots or ankle boots: they should “fit” under the shortened pants, so that at least they do not create a second horizontal line on the ankle and do not leave a gap of “bare” skin. And if your winter boots cut into your leg line in the wrong place, we’ll fine it.

Get out of the palette

We have nothing against accent shoes – on the contrary, it’s one of our favorite tricks. You can transform your favorite monochromatic look by simply adding shoes in an unusual color or style. But it would be a big mistake to buy only such non-trivial models – and who will take care of the base? Winter boots should not only be beautiful and warm, but also versatile: you will wear them with different outerwear, and every time the combination should be harmonious.

Therefore, do not forget that black / beige / brown / gray colors will certainly be suitable in winter boots and “duties” – depending on what shades you wear a fur coat, jacket and down jacket.

Choose the wrong “bottom” style

We return to the question that the wrong combination of pants and shoes can shorten the legs. But that’s just one of the problems: cargo tucked into winter boots, skinny jeans with thin over-the-knee boots or midi skirts with mid-height boots can look inharmonious.

There is a list of friends and enemies for each shoe model: for example, wide-legged boots are good with relaxed trousers tucked into shoes, and moon boots look great with tight leggings or, conversely, with loose denim – but without pockets and excess decor.
