The fate of women in cinema – and in any other profession – is taken in the strong hands of women themselves. The fight for equal rights and recognition continues everywhere: in fashion, medicine, politics, sports and, of course, in the film industry, where famous activists speak more often than others about how much girls have achieved (and still have to achieve). This time, women in cinema were honored at the WIF Honors ceremony held in Los Angeles at The Beverly Hilton, sponsored by Max Mara.

The star of the evening, Lili Reinhart, selected as the winner of the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award, received the award from Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, Max Mara’s global ambassador and granddaughter of the brand’s founder. “I like to believe that the world is changing for the better. I am optimistic about my future daughters, that their world will be kinder, softer, – admitted the actress while receiving the award. “Yes, we have work to do and we can do it – lucky us.”

The Crystal Award was also received by Olivia Wilde, who noted that it is important for girls to feel each other’s support, and only then can positive changes occur in the film industry. “I think organizations like this exist to give us community,” says the actress. “Because sometimes it’s hard — very hard — to be heard, it’s very hard to hold onto your rights.”
Kirsten Schaffer, CEO of WIF, encouraged all girls to draw inspiration from each other, listen to different opinions – we are all so different! And at the same time, we all still want to be heard, recognized. “Inspiration is right in front of us, in the women we are, the women we work with,” Kirsten urges. Looking at the amazing and strong ladies who honored each other at the WIF Honors, you can’t help but admit: they are!
