Fashion The Princess adored them so much: cozy New Year’s sweaters in the style of Diana

December will officially arrive in a few days and what does that mean? It’s time for weird and wacky sweaters! We’ve been waiting for this moment all year to finally raid our favorite stores and leave with a new outfit for the coziest holiday in the world – New Year. We’re never going to abandon this tradition (let’s think), especially since the trend of “silly” sweaters was once supported by Princess Diana and her taste can certainly be trusted.

Lady Dee has been practicing ugly fashion—a.k.a. ugly fashion—before it became a mega-popular technique. Actually, thanks to her, massive sneakers, oversized jackets and loose sweatshirts broke into trends. And along with them – New Year’s sweaters with strange, slightly disgusting prints and an uncontrollable festive mood.

A sweater with the words “I’m a Luxury” might look strange on someone else – but not on Diana. Just as masterfully, the princess dressed the model with embroidered Christmas balls, horsemen on a pole and black and white lambs. The latter, by the way, can be considered the most famous and, unfortunately, infamous jumper of Diana: the princess first “walked” a sweater with Warm and Wonderfu sheep at a polo match in 1981 – on that day, photographers caught her withdrawn, thoughtful, sad. The press interpreted her fashion message as an indication that Lady Di felt like an outsider in the royal family – like a black sheep surrounded by snow whites.

Despite the sad undertones, it was this sweater that fans of Diana’s style fell in love with more than others – and they still try to copy it. Despite the sad hint, Lady Dee looked incredible – she was definitely unparalleled in the selection of New Year’s jumpers. Let’s trust her taste and try some princess-style models: if there is a festive uniform, then it’s her!
