In fact, the comedy duo could be happy about it. The only problem is that resellers sell the tickets on platforms like Ricardo and Viagogo for a lot of money. The tickets, which normally cost between 50 and 80 francs, are sometimes offered for more than 500 francs on Ricardo.
Divertimento and her management criticize this action: “It is a brutal thorn in our side,” says her manager to “SRF”. They also write on their website that you should not buy too expensive tickets from other platforms.
Reselling tickets is actually not prohibited, says lawyer André Kuhn against the “Tablatt”, because the tickets are not personalized. But: «You simply do not honor the contract that you, as the buyer of the ticket, have concluded with the official seller. You break the contract and the consequence is that the official ticket seller then has the right to cancel the ticket – then the ticket would be invalid,” added Kuhn.
Viagogo has been criticized several times in recent years. EU consumer protection groups also warned against the Swiss platform. However, in 2020, the Federal Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit brought against Viagogo by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco).
However, the platform was sued by Circus Knie in 20201. A federal court found that the platform had used unfair methods in selling tickets to circus performances.
