Is THE cult sex franchise of your childhood making a comeback? Original star gives hope

The “American Pie” series clearly had its heyday between 1999 and 2003, when the first three parts also influenced a whole generation of teenagers in this country. A few uninspired home theater spin-offs followed without the original cast before reuniting for a big reunion in 2012’s American Pie 4: The Class Reunion.

The nostalgic reunion was also a box office success and brought the total box office of the original series to almost a billion dollars, so that a fifth part was also quickly decided. But there is no trace of that more than a decade later, which is why it seemed that the sequel was quietly and secretly buried again.

But what is arguably the franchise’s biggest fan favorite is personally fueling new hope: in an interview with the website has Stifler actors Sean William Scott revealed that another sequel to “American Pie” is currently in talks..

“I love the character so much,” said the euphoric Scott . “We would need a good idea and especially nowadays it should be fantastic. […] And to be fair, we were just talking about an idea too. I had one that we only recently started talking about.

Stifler in his mid-forties

At least Scott also teased the obvious idea. After “American Pie 4” the once hormone-driven company of Jim (Jason Biggs), Finch (Eddie Kay Thomas), Stifler and Co. showed in a new phase of life, “American Pie 5” would now probably face new problems of their mid-40s.

“It would be great fun and very fascinating to see a guy like Stifler trying to make his way today, in his mid-40s.”Scott explained. “A man who hasn’t changed much, as the world around him has changed. What would his life be like?” And these challenges can be related not only to Stifler living off his macho attitude, but also to the humor of a possible sequel, as the comedy world has also moved on in recent years.

“American Pie 5” or Stifler spin-off?

However, Scott’s comments kind of sound like the next “American Pie” movie would be less of a proper “American Pie 5” and more of a Stifler spin-off., if the project, which is far from set in stone, should come about at all. But even in the case of an offshoot of its own, there could at least be guest appearances from old acquaintances, most notably Stifler’s mother (see news photo above), whose actress Jennifer Coolidge received an Emmy (for “The White Lotus”) just last year.

In that case, however, it would be unclear whether one would still fall back on a script draft by “Cobra Kai” creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, which was actually made years ago, who would actually write and direct a part. 5 after part 4. First of all, everything must depend on how the discussions Seann William Scott refers to continue.

Subsequently, Scott can be seen as Kevin James’ villain successor in the “Becky” sequel “The Wrath Of Becky”, which, however, does not yet have a German release date.
