New on Netflix this week: The first “Bridgerton” spin-off & Keanu Reeves in one of his iconic roles

As always, Netflix has a few interesting new additions ready in the first week of May – but not too many this time. Doesn’t matter, because other streaming services also have nice films and series. For example, with an Amazon Prime subscription you can watch the first episodes of the action series “Citadel”, or watch the new live-action fairy tale “Peter Pan & Wendy” on Disney +. Monday: Keanu Reeves in an iconic role

Fans had a long wait for this sequel, and it was worth it: in the FILMSTARTS review, “Bill & Ted save the universe” got 3.5 out of 5 stars. The comedy, which reprises Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter in their iconic roles as Ted and Bill, hits theaters in September 2020 — but for one day only. So we’re moving straight to Thursday – and there’s the series highlight of the week: With “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” a spin-off of “Bridgerton” comes to Netflix. The miniseries tells the backstory of Queen Charlotte played by Golda Rosheuvel in Bridgerton.

In Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story we now see India Amarteifio as the young German princess Charlotte, whose brother is married to the British king George III. (Corey Mylchreest) threads. Charlotte is not enthusiastic at all at first. But an absolutely unusual love story awaits her…

Friday: Thriller series from France

Anya (Eden Ducourant), a student in Paris, is accused of murder in the miniseries A Perfect Mother. Her mother Hélène (Julie Gayet) is shocked. Convinced of her daughter’s innocence, Hélène rushes to Anya’s side. But what if there’s something wrong with the story…?

No new additions to Netflix have been announced for the weekend yet. But you can already take a look at the rest of May and see if there is something for you. For example, The Kangaroo Chronicles is coming to the streaming service later this month, and the Arnold Schwarzenegger series Fubar should also be something to look forward to:
