For anyone who doesn’t know what to do with all the millions of francs in their bank account: There is good news! Switzerland’s most expensive apartment – a 7.5 room apartment with 343 square meters – is now available for rent. The price? 36,000 francs per month, or about 432,000 francs per year.
The advertisement can currently be found on the website of Immoscout 24. The “Handelzeitung” describes the extraordinary property on the edge of Lake Lucerne in Lucerne as the “Rolls-Royce of the rental apartment market”. But what does this apartment have to offer?
Admittedly, the apartment is beautiful, chic and the parquet floor shines. Nothing new so far. But, and this is where future tenants get their money’s worth: The property is located in the Grand Hotel National in Lucerne, which rents out the apartment. And where there is a luxury hotel, there is a luxury service.
Aside from the lack of utilities (unsurprising at this price point), the following residents can benefit from a 24-hour concierge service, a driver and other “take care of everything” staff. Incidentally, the kitchen is rarely used by the tenants for that reason, says the director of the Grand Hotel National in Lucerne.
“24 hours” also reports on the possibility of getting help with shopping, organizing a trip or even stocking the fridge after the holiday.
The last question that arises is: Why is this luxury building empty? The former owner would have decided to leave the house after more than 20 years. The director of the Grand Hotel National in Lucerne said in an interview with the Handelszeitung that he was one floor down “because 7.5 rooms are too many”.
