The cast of the series “John Wick” is clearly led by Keanu Reeves, but there are also other high-profile actors. Ian McShane has been there from the start. In “John Wick 2” there was a reunion with “Matrix” co-star Laurence Fishburne and recently real action legends were brought on board, especially in hostile parts. In “John Wick 3” this was Mark Dacascos, filling in for Hiroyuki Sanada, who was unable to play at short notice. The latter then came on board in “John Wick 4” (as an ally), while Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, and Marko Zaror are several current action stars who make life difficult for the title character.
But as director Chad Stahelski in an interview with betrays he and Keanu Reeves have already written a slew of names they’d like to work with. He mentions action legends like Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Jason Statham. A Sylvester Stallone cameo would also be great. Being “a little old-fashioned”, Clint Eastwood is also on his dream list. He also names Christian Bale, Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Matt Damon and Cillian Murphy as stars he would like to see in a “John Wick” movie.
Best odds with Jason Momoa?
He also chooses an actor. He is friends with ‘Aquaman’ star Jason Momoa and he “couldn’t think of a greater appeal” than making a movie where Momoa steps onto the scene and looks at the camera in his own unique waysaid Stahelski .
There really has to be “John Wick 5” – even though “John Wick 4” feels like closure and Stahelski announced he’d be taking a break first. After that, though, he could envision a return, he made it clear time and time again – most recently on the podcast “Behind The Screen” from the . There he stated again that in a few months he would sit down with Keanu Reeves in a whiskey bar in Japan and then if someone has a good idea for a sequel, they’re open to it. It’s also nice to see that the audience really wants to see more.
So “John Wick 5” is an option, but so are other movies set in the same world as the announced spin-off “Ballerina” for 2024. And Stahelski will definitely be making movies outside of the “John Wick” at some point. “universe, in which there may be a dream to work with one of these legends.
