It has been 29 years since “Forrest Gump” – now a classic – first hit theaters. The most famous is probably Tom Hanks, who played the lead role and has since appeared in several films. But what are Hanks and the rest of the cast doing so many years later? Here you can find out.

Tom Hanks has been in show business since the 1980s. He made his breakthrough in the early 1990s with “Sleepless in Seattle”, “Philadelphia” and in 1994 with “Forrest Gump”. Soon after, however, the Oscar-winning actor increasingly stepped behind the camera and founded a film production company. The latest movie starring the 66-year-old came out this year in Switzerland and is called “A Man Named Otto”. This year he has been nominated three times for the golden raspberry.

Forrest’s mother, who always has a life lesson, was played by Sally Field. Field won an Oscar for both Leading Actress and Supporting Actress for “Forrest Gump”. Her more recent film projects include the role of Aunt May in The Amating Spider-Man and a speaking role in The Little Mermaid. The 67-year-old actress’s latest role is in the comedy ’80 for Brady’, which hits theaters this year.

As a child, Forrest was played by Michael Conner Humphreys. He was nine years old at the time and it would be his only role for a long time. Jenny is the only one who loves young Forrest – played by Hanna R. Hall, whose first acting role was Jenny. The 38-year-old has been working as a theater producer in Los Angeles since 2012, but still acts in films and series such as ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Masters of Sex’ and ‘The Purge’.

The role as Forrest’s son was Haley Joel Osment’s first, when he was six years old. The pinnacle of Osment’s career came in 1999 when he played a boy who saw people already dead in The Sixth Sense. He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this role and won several awards. Osment has had roles in Silicon Valley, The Boys, and The Kominsky Method. He has also worked as a voice actor and this year, the 34-year-old actor can be seen in the Amazon movie “Somebody I Used to Know”.

Siobhan Fallon played the bus driver who took Forrest to school. In later years also his son, Forrest Jr.. The now 61-year-old actress has starred in a number of films and series, including “Elementary”, “American Gods” and “30 Rock”. This year, the drama film “Eileen” with Fallon will hit theaters.
