After “Breaking Bad” & “Better Call Saul” comes “Lucky Hank”: trailer for the new series with Bob Odenkirk

In the US, “Lucky Hank” begins March 19, 2023 on AMC. When and on which broadcaster or streaming service we can see the eight episodes of the first season in Germany has not yet been announced. However, we expect an appointment close to the US release.

With his figure of Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman being adored by millions of fans around the world, Bob Odenkirk has made it from a supporting actor and character actor to a global star at a relatively advanced age. First, he played the cunning, partly due to his capacity as an incorrigibly hapless but also extremely sympathetic lawyer from 2009 to 2013 in the crime series phenomenon “Breaking Bad”.

Actually, Saul Goodman would only be involved in the story about a man (Bryan Cranston) who has mutated from a high school teacher to a drug lord for a few episodes. But then he was so enjoyed by both viewers and “Breaking Bad” creator and producer Vince Gilligan that he became an integral part of the series. When this finally ended after five seasons, Gilligan created an equally popular spin-off series for him with “Better Call Saul”, which even lasted six seasons and did not reach its final until August 2022.

Both successful formats ran in the US on cable channel AMC, which apparently did not want to lose any of its top stars. So Odenkirk was offered the title role and a position as producer of the new dramedy Lucky Hank.

In fact, he’s a made man. He is happily married, father of two daughters, published a novel years ago that was appreciated by critics and has a decisive influence on the fate of the university. Actually. Because suddenly that week comes when things go really wrong: Hank clashes with his colleagues, the faculty is threatened with budget cuts, he doubts his marriage, and then there’s that prostate…”
