The Openair St. Gallen has been around since 1977 – every year it serves up a colorful mix of performers worth checking out. Big names from the rap, RnB and rock pop scene are back on stage again this year. There are still enough tickets, and if you go with a group of more than eight people, there is even a special ticket. The two-week festival right on Lake Geneva is like no other part of the Swiss festival summer – even when there is no camping and the like. Anyone who wants to can access the site – tickets must be purchased for the individual concerts only. Every year, the stars and starlets of rap heaven are drawn to the Grosse Allmend, Europe’s largest hip-hop festival. In 2023, the festival on Bern’s home mountain will celebrate its 40th anniversary – reason enough to really let it go. As an anniversary gift, visitors can enjoy an extra festival day on Sunday. Every year the Paléo Festival takes place in Nyon – again this year around 40,000 visitors are expected. It offers something for every musical taste: from pop to rap and from rock to electro, you will find everything. The 48th Winterthur Music Festival will take place – as always, unless Corona intervenes – again in the old town. For twelve days, the whole city will be filled with music from seven stages. The Heitere Openair in Zofingen also has a long tradition – it has taken place every year since 1991 with a diverse line-up that transcends genres. They don’t want to reveal what the organizers have in mind this year. What we do know is that there will be four more stages on which there will be about 30 artists again. Last year, no fewer than 102,000 visitors made the pilgrimage to the Zurich Openair. Very close to the airport, between Rümlang and Opfikon, it will be noisy again this summer.
