That says director James Cameron to the trade magazine revealed that the decision to include the sequel “Avatar 3” and parts of “Avatar 4” along with “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” was a very practical one.
Had he done it differently, you would have gotten what he calls the “Stranger Things effect”: the human being suddenly has kid characters “who are supposed to be in high school but look like 27”. He loves the Netflix series and of course there is the so called “voluntary suspension of disbelief”, the “suspension of disbelief” and you still love the characters but this is not really the truth as he is the opposite clarify.
In the film still a child, in reality an adult
Since computer technology can only help him so much in solving the problem, he had to resort to this large-scale shoot to carry out his “Avatar” plans – especially since one of his main characters is human. Jack Champion plays the human boy Spider, who is raised by the Na’vi and is an adopted son of sorts to Jake (Sam Worthington).
According to Cameron, the boy “grew like crazy,” so they had to shoot the second, third, and first acts of the fourth film in one take. After all, Jack Champion was only 12 when Cameron signed him on as an actor, so still a kid. Today he is already 18 years old, so grown up.
What happens after Act 1 of “Avatar 4”?
With the statement, James Cameron also revealed that Jack Champion will also play an important role as a spider after “The Way Of Water” in “Avatar 3” and in the first act of “Avatar 4”. After the end of “Avatar 2”, at least the first information is not surprising. What happens next is, of course, more interesting.

Does Spider die in Act One of Avatar 4? Will he be seen from the movie in any other way? Will he become a Na’vi? Or is there just another leap in time, so that Spider (as well as Jake and Neytiri’s other children) are grown up and the casting problem no longer exists?
It remains exciting. Currently “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” is still running in German cinemas, “avatar 3“ should follow in December 2024. In the following article, we’ll tell you what the other sequels are like and when they’ll be released in theaters:
