Quentin Tarantino may have considered casting Sylvester Stallone in Pulp Fiction, but he never approached the Rocky star. In an interview with the Stallone was asked about allegedly turned down roles and whether he regrets these cancellations today. He made it clear that he was never offered “Pulp Fiction”. The rumor that has been circulating for years that he has canceled can therefore be put to rest.
Stallone regrets two other cancellations. The fact that he was not in front of the camera in Hal Ashby’s war drama “Coming Home”, nominated for eight Oscars, irritates him greatly. But he can handle this well because he couldn’t have played the role of veteran Luke Martin better than Jon Voight. He then took over and won an Oscar for his performance.

But he really regrets the thriller”The only witness‘ to have refused. That was a mistake” he says it . Harrison Ford then played Stallone as a cop who hid in a small Amish community to protect a boy who witnessed a murder committed by dirty cops. Ford was nominated for an Oscar for the role.

Sylvester Stallone and “Pulp Fiction” – there is still an absurd story
Incidentally, while Stallone was never considered for Pulp Fiction, he does share a common and rather absurd history with the film. Then When “Pulp Fiction” was released in US cinemas, the Stallone actor was “The specialist“. When box office receipts were reported, producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who produced the cult film Tarantino, boasted that their film had made more money than the entire Stallone production, despite being shown in half as many theaters. .
When Warner briefly revised the earnings for “The Specialist” upwards by a few hundred thousand dollars and landed at the top of the charts, Bob Weinstein reported that “Pulp Fiction” also had a calculation error and higher earnings were achieved. Today it is considered very likely that the Weinsteins reported wrong earnings and manipulated the charts even with the original number and even more so with the correctionto be able to call the number 1 hit in the further advertising campaign “Pulp Fiction”.
Incidentally, there has never been a collaboration between Stallone and Tarantino – even though it was actually in the room later. However, the ‘Rocky’ star turned down the lead role in ‘Death Proof’. As a father of two daughters, he didn’t want to play a psychopath whose hobby is killing young women.
