But apparently the filmmaker, often called the “worst director of all time” thanks to concoctions like “Alone In The Dark”, “Far Cry” or “Postal”, tasted blood. Because after seven years as a restaurant operator in Canada Uwe Boll is now back in the movie business – really! According to an exclusive report from the industry magazine, he has three projects in the pipeline — and a $9 million thriller is set to begin filming in South Africa in March.

The seemingly most advanced film is the thriller “12 hours”, in which a man and his family travel to South Africa to attend his mother’s funeral. But then his entire family is kidnapped – and the protagonist has only the eponymous twelve hours to kill five people on behalf of the kidnappers and thus get his family back…

Another movie and a miniseries

In addition, Uwe Boll continues to work on a movie that was announced a while ago called “Hi“, which revolves around the real-life FBI agent Eliot Ness. He was largely responsible for stopping Al Capone. Kevin Costner plays Eliot Ness in Brian De Palma’s “The Untouchables: The Untouchables” – and Uwe Boll has already described “Ness” as a sequel to the 1987 classic, one of the greatest gangster films of all time.

Also in the planning phase an eight-part miniseries, about which, however, not much is known other than that it should be recorded in 2024 if possible and that, according to Uwe Boll, it probably stands in the tradition of the celebrated Kate Winslet hit “Mare Of Easttown”.
