Most film fans should be aware by now: the first votes about a new blockbuster are often a bit more euphoric than the reviews later. Excited when seeing the film – often also at the world premiere with all the stars there – people simply concentrate on the positive aspects. But with a little experience you can read the criticisms in nuances and subordinate clauses…
Marvel fans should be glad, then, that such nuances are virtually absent from the first votes on “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever” (theatrical release: November 9, 2022). The first reactions to theBlack Panther 2‘ sequels are just full of suspense and really exuberant – Film critic Samuel Leggett Jr. even claims to have seen the best Marvel movie since “Avengers: Endgame”:
#WakandaForever is easily the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame. The scope, camera work, acting and raw emotions on and off screen can be felt everywhere! This is the miracle I missed! I had one word in my heart all night; “WOW…” – #TeamJVS

Less humor, more serious
Emphasizing a lot of the first voices that the level of humor has been significantly lowered compared to other Marvel productions. Especially in the second half of the film there is almost no room for it.
Any MCU fans getting a little tired of the humor will love to know #WakandaForever is a much more serious movie. Jokes are rare past the middle of the movie, for the most part this is one of the more serious movies in the MCU.

But this should be a good thing: “Black Panther 2” is “heavy and dark as it should be,” it writes of the . The sequel is Marvel’s “most gripping and powerful” film yet:
Black Panther: #WakandaForever is Marvel’s most gripping and powerful film yet. It’s heavy and dark as it should be, and largely omits the studio’s signature tone. The artisanal work comes up in every way imaginable and the performances fit the occasion. pic.twitter.com/aAK7jjRMra

steven from also promises us that it may lead to tears (and also emphasizes that his enthusiasm has nothing to do with the euphoria of the world premiere):
I know you don’t believe it when people come out of a world premiere and say a movie is great….but #BlackPantherWakandaForever is a fantastic sequel and a great movie. I knew it would be emotional and it was. Expect your eyes to leak. well done #RyanCoogler pic.twitter.com/unJDi8VGRt

All of these emotions must, of course, also have something to do with the fact that Chadwick Boseman’s unexpected and untimely death hangs over the film, and is reflected in the death of his character T’Challa. from thereby emphasizing that Black Panther 2 is a movie about “loss, legacy and healing”.
Ryan Coogler’s #BlackPantherWakandaForever, above all, is cathartic. An emotional film about loss, inheritance and healing. The story is intimate, but expanded with global power struggles and palace intrigue. Tenoch Huerta’s Namor is a POWER, better than I had hoped. So much to discuss. pic.twitter.com/cDFVcPYHRR

Wild and brutal action
An important aspect for many fans is of course the execution of the action. The author describes it as “wild”. the fight scenes:
No spoilers. Wakanda Forever had so many emotions!!! It was creepy and BRU-TAL in parts. Heartbreaking and beautiful. And the fight scenes were WILD. I am in awe of the care taken in representing these cultures. #WakandaForever pic.twitter.com/HHSClXcxoY

The Freelance Writer not only praises the quality of the action, but describes it as “very brutal”:
#WakandaForever was a beautiful tribute to Chadwick and the weight of the loss of him. The film beautifully touches on sadness & what that can do to a person. So the action is so good and very brutal. I need time to process this. #black Panther

highlights in particular the new Marvel (anti)hero Namor (played by Tenoch Huerta) who have a “unique and powerful fighting style”:
Namor is one of my favorite additions to the MCU. He strikes the perfect balance between intimidating yet sympathetic. His action scenes are some of my favorite movies, such a unique and powerful fighting style.
— Jack McBryan (@McBDirect) October 27, 2022
We always get a lot of praise for the cast. Above all, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright and the aforementioned newcomer Tenoch Huerta as Namor have been praised time and again:
#WakandaForever is excellent. It deals with loss, grief, and revenge with a maturity and seriousness rarely seen in the MCU. Black Panther remains their crown jewel. Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett and Tenoch Huerta all bring the best acting I’ve seen all year. pic.twitter.com/ECqGxfEyFi

Special credit for the end credits scene
film journalist want saw “the best end credits scene in Marvel history”. – and makes it clear that no other scene can compete with her for this position.
Black Panther: #WakandaForever is as epic as Marvel sequels get. The story is wildly ambitious and thematically rewarding with heartbreaking twists. You can feel the length, but it’s fun, outrageously beautiful and has the best credits scene in Marvel history, no contest. pic.twitter.com/zD8nYIFKXC

Oscar expert from meanwhile, even the jaw dropped during this scene:
#BlackPantherWakandaForever is a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Visual stunner, with Angela Bassett in charge of every scene she inhabits. Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” will do just that for many. Another great post-credit scene that is truly an overwhelming experience. Don’t know anything about Oscars. pic.twitter.com/55YSor1PrD

Above all, the order of the credits is supposed to be very moving, as several critics explain – for example F.
#WakandaForever is fantastic! Coogler delivers a soulful, wondrous sequel that packs an emotional punch and effectively explores relevant world themes. A beautiful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great, and the mid-credits scene is really moving. #Black Panther pic.twitter.com/dqoSSfnTR9

The fact that the film is called “Wakanda Forever” for a reason completes the story from Transparent:
#Black Panther Wakanda Forever is excellent. An enormously powerful story of moving forward – at times crushing, but also beautifully cathartic and encouraging. Can’t get over how well the movie deserves that title. pic.twitter.com/jYZedeJgT1
