Ella Rumpf was honored as best actress at the Swiss Film Awards. She received the prize on Friday evening in Zurich for her performance in ‘Le théorème de Marguerite’. Karim Barras (“Bisons”) was named best actor.
29-year-old Ella Rumpf triumphed at the film awards ceremony against Ursina Lardi (“The Neighbors from Above”) and Julia Jentsch (“8 Days in August”). In the drama “Le théorème de Marguerite”, Rumpf plays a student who fails to present her dissertation. She becomes a shoe salesman before discovering her talent for the Chinese board game Mah-Jong.
Rumpf received a César for this role in February. The jury of the French Film Prize honored the Swiss-French actors as female discovery of the year.
The Swiss-French actor Karim Barras was honored for his performance in the boxer thriller ‘Bisons’. Pierre Monnard’s film has been nominated six times for the Swiss Film Prize.
