Disney has surprisingly announced a sequel to “Moana.” The animated film should even appear in cinemas this year.

Walt Disney has announced that “Moana 2” (German: “Viana 2”) is coming – and soon! Originally planned as a Disney+ series, it is now a movie and will be released in theaters in November 2024.
Along with a short teaser, Disney revealed that the musical will “take viewers on an expansive new journey with Moana, Maui and a brand new crew of unlikely sailors. After unexpectedly meeting one of her trailblazing ancestors, Moana must travel to the vast seas of Oceania and dangerous, long-forgotten waters to experience an adventure she has never experienced before.
“Moana 2” is separate from the studio’s live-action adaptation, which is currently in the works and stars Dwayne Johnson as the tattooed demigod Maui. Auli’i Cravalho, who played Moana in the 2016 film, is expected to reprise her role in the animated sequel. However, she will not return as the title character in the live-action version, although she will serve as an executive producer.
Gina Carano is suing Disney with the help of Elon Musk. He has pledged to support X users who say they have been discriminated against because of their social media posts.
Carano lost her job on “The Mandalorian” in 2021 after claiming on social media that having a different political opinion was akin to being Jewish during the Holocaust. She also made fun of people who had her pronouns on their social media profiles, spread misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic and shared controversial posts about Biden’s alleged election fraud.
Disney responded immediately and fired the 41-year-old from the ‘Stars Wars’ series. There Carano played against Cara Dune for two seasons. She was also dropped by her agency.
A statement from X said: “We are proud to financially support Gina Carano’s lawsuit. She must be able to express her views freely on X and work without harassment, intimidation or discrimination.”
Speculation has been going on for months about who Reed Richards will play in the new ‘Fantastic Four’ movie. Although the deal has not yet been finalized, sources report that Pedro Pascal will play the leader of the superhero group, Deadline writes. Filming is scheduled for a year from now.
Fans are not happy with this casting and are calling for John Krasinski, who previously played the role, to be rehired.
Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell will star in “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.” Kogonada, the director of “Pachinko” and “After Yang,” will produce the film from an original screenplay by Seth Reiss, author of “The Menu.”

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has been renewed for a second season on Disney+. As CEO Bob Iger announced during the company’s most recent quarterly earnings conference call, Season 1 was streamed more than 110 million hours. That amounts to more than 20 million viewers.
“A Quiet Place: Day One” is the third film in John Krasinski’s horror series. However, Krasinski is only involved as an author. Emily Blunt would also no longer be involved. The new film shows the day the world became silent.
The horror film can be seen in cinemas from June 27.
Disney invests $1.5 billion in Fortnite developer Epic Games. “This is the Mouse House’s biggest foray into the games industry ever,” Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Wednesday.

In the new nature documentary ‘Dreamscapes’ Kate Winslet speaks from the perspective of Mother Earth. The film from Austrian company Hallmann Entertainment reveals the world’s landscapes, from oceans to coasts to deserts and forests. The footage was captured by more than 250 videographers from 100 countries.
“I was so excited to be part of something that focused not on highlighting the decay of the world, but on highlighting the beautiful nature that still exists,” says Winslet. “We all have a shared responsibility to protect them. The opportunity to raise my voice for something that felt very unique, very beautiful and very special immediately touched my heart.”
It is not known when the documentation will appear.
At the “Star Wars Celebration 2023” convention, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced four new “Star Wars” films – one of them, a film about Mando and Grogu.
The start date is now also known: May 22, 2026. Production starts this summer. Jon Favreau serves as executive producer.
